Free, and unfettered

Does independence actually mean freedom from someone? Or does it mean you have the opportunity to break your shackles. Being fettered is just a mind game. It’s all in the mind. If you feel the world around you closing in, all you need is to let the window of your soul, and mind open…just watch and see how life, fresh ideas, lovely thoughts, beautiful smiles and laughter seeps in slowly, but surely.

Read this ( click on the coloured word to see the article) very nice article and thought I would share it with you all….I wonder if any of you would agree with her.

That was one heck of a piece. Sometimes you wonder when you read someone elses post, how it sounds like you speaking.

To the loading of the Mustang and ripping. It was almost like me !

And the next independence day is a year away.

Hmm

I was reminded of a movie (tamil) by Visu that I saw sometime back.. there a lady comments "Independence and Freedom are two very different things".. if you can understand tamil "Sudhandhiram and Vidudhalai" are the words she used!

Thanks for the link to the article prats..it is a very interesting article..great food for thought.

I agree that Freedom in its totality is a state of the mind and the being. One has to FEEL free to be able to appreciate freedom..n “Free from What” is an excellent Q to ask ‘coz at different times we want freedom from different things n people. The kind of freedom I desired yesterday is not necessarily wat I want today. So freedom something one has to chase n work for all lifelong.
Also once we attain freedom from a certain thing, we value u it only for a certain period. After that we get used to the new “free” life and so are not able to appreciate it anymore. The way we appreciate the freedom obtained on 15th Aug 1947 won’t be as deep as the way in which our ancestors who lived during the time of struggle will appreciate it. N the value of the freedom now, in 2009, def won’t match the value it had during the 1st 10-15 yrs after 1947.

N then comes the point about how Freedom is not ALWEZ a good thing. About how sometimes one loses control, abuses freedom and ends up digging their own grave.

I have so much to say…I mite end up writing a mini-post here..so I better stop.

Thanks again for planting the seed of thought.

I so wish this sometimes. Yet so difficult to just declare and give yourself that gift.
